Who cares if cosmos are a little out of fashion right now, this is SUCH a perfect party cocktail. Just mix everything but the champ in advance, keep it chilled, and it takes about five seconds to get a drink into your thirsty guests’ hands. It’s just an easy, casual crowd please for people who can enjoy a sweet cocktail. (On that note, I think a brut or extra brut champagne or sparkling wine is your best bet for not going over the top in sweetness.)

This festive cocktail was excellent!
I made it with triple sec, cava and
2 T of agave versus sugar…so a
slight deviation from the original
recipe; however, it was what I had
on hand. I would make exactly this
way again. It was delcious, not too
sweet and slightly tart. Everyone
enjoyed and it was simple to
prepare, yeah!-

I love this cocktail and have made it many times over the years (without sugar, too, but all else as stated). Since I’ve spent the time working it out, I thought I’d add that 4 c. Champagne is actually 900 mL, so these are the proportions I use per bottle of prosecco, etc. (750 mL being standard size): 1 c Cointreau, 1 c cran. juice, 1/2 c minus 2 tsp lime. Per glass, it’s 6 tsp each of Cointreau & cran, 2.6 tsp lime; fill w/Champagne. Proportion of Champagne to juice mixture is actually 1 part bubbly to 3/4 part juice&Cointreau. Happy mixing!

Good flavor and festive for a party, but very strong – we used triple sec and literally cut the amount in half. We served in shallow champagne glasses with a toothpick with 2 or 3 raspberries – very pretty. Make the base ahead and add the champagne in a pitcher at the last minute.

Really wonderful! I didn’t use any extra sugar, and
used a little Rose’s lime juice because I didn’t have
quite enough fresh lime juice. But I agree with the
other posters that these can be dangerous….-
